Making Custody A Little Easier

a little easier custody north haven greenwich ct

When you and your partner decide to split up, there are certain areas where things might become a little bit of a struggle. The separation of your shared wealth can often be a point of contention, as the state of Connecticut requires an equitable division of all assets and liabilities. But even more important than your net worth is the health and safety of your shared child, so it is important to take your custody discussions with the earnestness that they deserve.

With our understanding and knowledgeable divorce attorneys at the law offices of Charles & Concilio, LLC in Greenwich, CT, you can have an expert by your side at every step along the way. During this process, there are ways that you can make this process a little bit easier, including by working alongside your former partner in crafting a shared parenting plan, which details your rights and responsibilities as parents. Speak with our team today to learn more about how a parenting plan can help both you and the other parent to do what’s best for your little one.

Speak With An Attorney Before You Make Any Important Custody Decisions

If it is time to talk about custody, be sure to meet with a talented local legal team to better understand your options. Divorce can often seem like a confusing and complicated experience, and your attorney can help you to know your next steps. When there is a child involved, the stakes are simply much higher in ever decision that you make.

When you and the other parent can come to an agreement on certain aspects of your parenting strategy, it can make things a little bit easier in your process. Coming together can help you two to make collective decisions as parents, rather than relying on the court to make them for you.

What Exactly Is A Parenting Plan?

One of your options as divorced parents, or ones that were never married to begin with, is negotiating an agreement through a parenting plan. Essentially, a parenting plan is a shared document that outlines the rights and responsibilities of each parent, helping both of you to make decisions that are right for your child.

Parenting plans help in a broad variety of ways, including details on how to handle important aspects of raising your child like their medical decisions. They can also help you two to agree on a more flexible schedule of visitations!
